Hi! My name is Charla. This site is where I share experiences plus tips and techniques that I have gathered in my 19 years of teaching in the Texas public school system and in 30+ years of doing private tutoring and teaching children’s Bible classes. In the public schools, I taught first and second grades (mostly first grade), students with learning disabilities in a Resource Room, Early Childhood, ESL students in a total ESL school, and Gifted students. I have also done private tutoring throughout the years and have tutored nearly 50 students, ages ranging from four years old to college age. Now, I am doing substitute teaching and hope to go back to teaching full time. By sharing my experiences, I hope you can find something helpful to use in your teaching experience.
